Get Smart : Good movie but not so great movie

Released on June 20, Get Smart has all the elements to make it a big summer entertainer; great star cast, funny story, action, romance, special effects and action. The recreation of the 1960s popular television sitcom is not a bad idea. One of Hollywood’s top comedy actor, Steve Carell played the character of an analyst dreaming to become a special agent very well. Anne Hathaway also played her part. However, there was still some thing missing. Despite all the efforts the movie did not do well at the box office. rcreader says:

There's something troubling, and maybe a little insidious, about the awfulness of the Get Smart film, because while watching it, it seems you can never quite pinpoint what it is you hate about it. (I succeeded when the jet pilot puked into his air-sickness bag, and then spilled the contents in front of us.) The actors certainly aren't bad: Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, Dwayne Johnson, Alan Arkin, and others go through the motions amiably, if not interestingly, and even Bill Murray shows up for a cameo.

The story of Get Smart revolves around Maxwell Smart. He works as an analyst in an spy agency named CONTROL. Maxwell always wanted to be a field operative. Despite his high scores his boss does not allow him to become one because he believes that Maxwell can do more as an analyst. After CONTROl was attacked by an evil crime syndicate known as KAOS. Maxwell finally gets his chance to work as a field operative with “lovely-but-lethal” Agent 99. Together they fight evil.
