The Dark Knight crossed $400 million mark in USA

After eighteen days of its release, latest Batman movie, The Dark Knight, has passed $400 million mark in USA and on its way to becoming one of the top grossing movies of all time. It broke Shrek 2’s record which collected $400 million in 43 days in 2004. Currently, the movie is at the 8th position on the list of all-time-highest grossing movies.

According to famous movie statistical research firm, Exhibitor Relations Co. Inc., on August 4th, the movie collected $6.3 million and crossed its $400 million mark. If everything goes right then today it will cross Spiderman and will rise to the 7th position and by the end of the week the movie will whiz past Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (sixth place, $423 million), Star Wars: Episode I—The Phantom Menace (fifth place, $431 million) and probably E.T. (fourth place, $435 million).

Already, the ticket sales are slowing down but the movie will continue attract audience to the theatres. Many anticipated that The Dark Knight will cross Titanic’s $600 million mark but now it seems like that may not be possible. Still, director Christopher Nolan should be happy because his super hero has collected $600 million world wide.
